So your band wants to play at StrangeCreek? This is your chance!
The StrangeCreek Battle of the Bands involves a few steps:
1 – SIGN UP
Fill out the Band Submission Form (below). We are pretty open-minded but reserve the right to omit as we see fit; for example, if content is deemed inappropriate to our event.
2 – GET VOTES
All bands who enter will be listed in our on-line voting poll. (Voting is limited to three per person.) The top vote-getters are offered battle sets; if any of those bands are disqualified or unable to play, we ask next highest vote-getters until all battle slots are filled.) VOTING ENDS FEBRUARY 15! Contenders announced very soon after.
3 – ROCK OUT / STRUT YOUR STUFF!
Specific band schedules will be worked out and confirmed ASAP after voting ends. Three bands will contend at each battle during the first three weeks of March, starting on March 2nd — many factors are taken into account when scheduling bands and we may not be able to accommodate your ideal location so please be flexible and understanding. Winners from first three weeks compete in the 4th week, and winners from the four venues will compete in the FINALS (Saturday, April 11 // Details TBA).
How are winners decided?
Draw definitely helps, but ultimately we’re looking for bands who might best fit our events, so the “dancefloor jury” (aka crowd reaction) is an important factor. Of course this is a subjective decision; final decisions are ours.
Please Note: We try to keep these “battles” POSITIVE for all involved, so no bad attitudes please. We’re all part of this music community and want to encourage all the performers involved. Plus, we’ve been known to recruit exciting bands who didn’t necessarily “win” their battle, so you never know. Let’s just have fun and enjoy great local music.
And remember, battle shows are ALWAYS FREE for fans! (And they are also 21+)
